Honest Review of this movie

I thought the first one was good, so I was interested to watch this one. By the conclusion, it wasn't a total letdown—in fact, it was at times really amusing, cool, and enjoyable! Even if the movie occasionally suffers from being superficial and unrealistic and lacks a strong romantic element (which makes sense given Amber Heard's limited screen time), I truly enjoyed witnessing Black Manta and Orm's characters and storylines. They were really more intriguing than Arthur/Aquaman himself, and they had some very spectacular moments! I fail to understand how anyone could find this offensive. While there are certain shortcomings, it's not that bad. In addition, the last boss battle was gripping and exciting.

Movie-SYNOPSIS/PLOT:

The film begins four years after the events of the first film, with Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) ruling as the king of Atlantis and living happily with his wife Mera (Amber Heard) and their son Arthur Jr. on land. However, his peace is shattered when he is attacked by Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), a mercenary who seeks revenge for his father’s death at Aquaman’s hands. Black Manta has acquired the Black Trident, a powerful and cursed weapon that belonged to Atlan, the first king of Atlantis. The Black Trident grants Black Manta enhanced abilities and control over an ancient force that can overheat the world and cause massive destruction.

Aquaman barely survives the encounter and learns from his friend Dr. Shin (Randall Park) that Black Manta is working for a mysterious benefactor who wants to unleash the Black Trident’s power. Aquaman also discovers that the Black Trident is connected to the lost seventh kingdom of the seas, which was banished by Atlan for rebelling against his rule. The seventh kingdom is said to be hidden in a secret location and guarded by a fearsome creature known as the Kingfish (Martin Short).

Aquaman realizes that he needs help to stop Black Manta and his ally, and decides to seek out his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson), the former king of Atlantis who is imprisoned in a maximum-security facility. Orm, who has been resentful of Aquaman for taking his throne and his mother Atlanna (Nicole Kidman), initially refuses to cooperate, but agrees to help when Aquaman promises to free him and restore his honor. Aquaman and Orm embark on a perilous journey to find the seventh kingdom and the Kingfish, while facing dangers from the other underwater kingdoms, such as the warlike Xebel, led by King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren), and the monstrous Trench, led by Kordax (Pilou Asbæk).

Along the way, Aquaman and Orm learn to overcome their differences and bond as brothers, while also encountering allies such as Stingray (Jani Zhao), a rebel from the seventh kingdom who wants to overthrow the Kingfish, and Karshon (Indya Moore), a shape-shifting shark who helps them navigate the treacherous waters. They also discover the truth about the Black Trident’s origin and purpose, and the identity of Black Manta’s benefactor, who turns out to be none other than Atlan himself (Vincent Regan), who has been preserved in a cryogenic state for thousands of years. Atlan reveals that he created the Black Trident as a fail-safe device to destroy the world in case Atlantis ever fell into corruption or chaos. He blames Aquaman for failing to unite the underwater kingdoms and protect the oceans from pollution and exploitation. He plans to use Black Manta as his instrument to activate the Black Trident and wipe out all life on Earth.

Aquaman and Orm manage to reach the seventh kingdom and confront the Kingfish, who is revealed to be a giant anglerfish-like creature that can manipulate light and illusions. They fight their way through the Kingfish’s army of loyal followers and reach the chamber where the Black Trident is stored. There, they face off against Black Manta and Atlan, who have arrived before them. A fierce battle ensues, during which Aquaman and Orm are severely wounded and Black Manta is killed by the Kingfish. Aquaman manages to reach the Black Trident and wrestle it from Atlan’s grasp, but is unable to stop it from activating. He then uses his telepathy to communicate with the Kingfish and appeal to its sense of loyalty and honor. He convinces the Kingfish to sacrifice itself and use its light power to counteract the Black Trident’s heat, creating a massive explosion that destroys the seventh kingdom and the Black Trident, but also saves the world from annihilation.

Aquaman and Orm survive the blast and are rescued by Mera, Atlanna, and their allies, who have come to their aid. Aquaman and Orm reconcile and hug, while Atlanna praises them for their bravery and heroism. Aquaman then frees Orm from his imprisonment and offers him a chance to join him as a co-ruler of Atlantis, which Orm gratefully accepts. Aquaman then returns to his family on land, where he is greeted by his son, who calls him “Dad” for the first time. Aquaman smiles and hugs him, while Mera kisses him. The film ends with Aquaman declaring that he is proud to be the king of Atlantis and the protector of the oceans, and that he will always fight for both worlds. He then leaps into the water with Mera and Orm, followed by a swarm of sea creatures, as the screen fades to black.
