The curious case of Benjamin button movie storyline / Plot
A boy is born on the evening of November 11, 1918, with the features and health issues of an elderly man. His father, Thomas Button, leaves the baby on the porch of a nursing home after his mother, Caroline, passes away shortly after giving birth. The infant is found by carer Queenie and chef Mr. Tizzy Weathers, who nurture him as their own and give him the name Benjamin. As the years go by, Benjamin physically merges in with the senior people, yet he still has a child's mind and interests. He gradually switches from a wheelchair to crutches and learns to walk as he reverse-ages. He makes friends with resident Mrs. Maple, who teaches him to play the piano, and a visiting African Pygmy named Oti, who teaches him to look beyond the material world.
On Thanksgiving Day 1930, Benjamin meets Daisy, a seven-year-old whose grandmother is in a nursing facility. The two of them click right away. Later, he agrees to work on the Mike Clark-driven tugboat Chelsea. Benjamin is greeted by Thomas Button, who does not reveal his true identity. In the fall of 1936, Benjamin departs on a protracted work assignment with the tugboat crew and embarks on a global journey. He finds out that Daisy was accepted into a dance company in New York City and sends her hundreds of postcards.
Benjamin falls in love with Elizabeth Abbott, the spouse of a British trade minister, in Murmansk in 1941. Benjamin is devastated when their relationship ends. The United States joins World War II in December of that year. Mike offers the Chelsea to the U.S. Navy, who assigns them to salvage work. Numerous American soldiers are found dead, along with an almost submerged American transport. A German U-boat that is the offender surfaces and opens fire on the tugboat. Captain Mike rams the submarine, causing an explosion that sinks both of them. With the exception of Rick Brody and Benjamin, who are saved the next day, the majority of the crew perishes.
Benjamin returns to New Orleans in May 1945, where he reunites with Queenie and finds out that Mr. Weathers has passed away. Daisy tries to seduce him when they reunite, but Benjamin rejects her, so she leaves. Thomas, who is near death, tells Benjamin about his birth and family when Benjamin visits him. Before passing away, Thomas leaves Benjamin both his estate and the button making business.
Daisy visits New Orleans once more in 1962 and meets up with Benjamin. Now since their ages are similar physically, they fall in love. Benjamin and Daisy live in together when Queenie passes away. Daisy, who has since founded a dance studio, informs Benjamin that she is expecting in 1967. Caroline, their daughter, is born in the spring of 1968. Benjamin sells his possessions in the 1970s, leaves the proceeds for Daisy and Caroline, and goes out on a solo journey because he feels he can no longer be a good father owing to his reverse ageing.
Physically a young man, Benjamin visits Daisy again in 1980. Daisy, who is now married, introduces him to her husband Robert and Caroline as a family friend. She acknowledges that he was correct to go because she would not have survived otherwise. Later, she pays him a visit at his hotel, where they have sex before splitting up once more. Social workers who discovered Benjamin, who is now physically a pre-teen, in 1990 get in touch with newly widowed Daisy. They tell her that he was transported to the hospital in poor physical condition, was living in a condemned building, and that her name was written in his notebook when he was taken there. Daisy finally enters the nursing home in 1997 and tends for Benjamin for the duration of his early signs of dementia. Physically a baby but chronologically almost 84 years old, Benjamin passes away in Daisy's arms in the spring of 2003 after Mr. Gateau's clock was replaced in 2002 with a functional modern digital clock. Daisy passes away in 2005 after revealing to everyone that Benjamin is Caroline's father. A storage space housing Mr. Gateau's clock is flooded by Hurricane Katrina, and the clock keeps running backwards.

David Fincher's 2008 American fantasy romantic drama film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was released. The plot by Eric Roth and Robin Swicord is partially based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story of the same name from 1922. Brad Pitt plays a man who matures backwards in the movie, and Cate Blanchett plays his long-term love interest. Taraji P. Henson, Mahershala Ali, Julia Ormond, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas, and Tilda Swinton are also featured in the movie.
The short story's film rights were purchased by producer Ray Stark in the middle of the 1980s with Universal Pictures supporting the project. Ray Stark, however, had difficulty getting the project off the ground and eventually sold the rights to producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall in the 1990s. The movie didn't start shooting until after Fincher and Pitt joined the cast in 2005, despite the fact that it was moved to Paramount Pictures in the 1990s. November 2006 saw the start of principal photography, which was completed in September 2007. The visual effects of the movie were created by Digital Domain, particularly the transformation of Brad Pitt's persona.
